Italian

Tiago Costa, VP ESN International Candidate

- Did you know about the Expo in Milan before?

Yes, since I have been in AGM Milan I remember all the promotion in the city, and it was also very important in Lisbon in 1998, it was a turning point for the city, it completely changed the area where it was located, it turned it into one of the most modern area of Lisbon.

- What did you think of the Students4Expo presentation?

I think it was very interesting presentation since all the opportunities were mentioned, unfortunately Portugal won’t have its own pavilion, but it’s great that through this project Portuguese students can participate anyway.

- How do you think this well benefit or effect European students if they volunteer?

It reminds me one of our project that is called Movin’Europe: its main purpose is promoting mobility. Expo volunteering will produce the same benefit sending many students for a short term in Milan, and giving them the opportunity to discover many new cultures in just one big place.

Joao Pinto, VP of ESN Portugal

- Did you know about the Expo in Milan before?

Yes of course. I knew that it is a world exhibition and I heard that ESN Italy reached an agreement with the Expo organization.

- What did you think of the Students4Expo presentation?

I actually learnt a lot of things about that, such as all the development of Expo during the history. I knew about the volunteers position but I didn’t know how to apply and what the roles were about. I also learnt about the summers school courses offered by Bicocca University.

- How do you think this well benefit or effect European students if they volunteer?

I always think that when people volunteers they learn something, I’m part of a no profit association and I can have only good consideration about volunteering. I believe volunteers will also gain awareness about the culture diversity represented in ExpoMilan2015 and the importance of the potential advantages coming from the international cooperation.
