#Erasmus30 | Silvia Costa è l'Ambassador di Marzo

Erasmus, una storia lunga trent'anni che ha cambiato la vita di oltre 3 milioni e mezzo di universitari, di studenti, di giovani ma anche di educatori e docenti, poi di volontari e ora anche di sportivi.

Il Programma più amato e conosciuto dagli europei che ha di fatto posto le basi di uno spazio comune europeo, ha fatto sperimentare concretamente la cittadinanza europea, ha riunificato davvero l'Europa dopo la caduta del muro di Berlino, ha arricchito più generazioni di giovani di  competenze linguistiche, culturali e di vita .

Oggi, a 60 anni dai Trattati di Roma, i giovani erasmini sono i più forti e importanti alleati della costruzione di una Europa federale, solidale e democratica contro chi vuole tornare indietro, a illusori sovranismi, come il Brexit e tanti movimenti populisti e nazionalisti, rialza muri e filo spinati, rinnega i valori e i diritti umani che sono alla base della costituzione e della costruzione europea come casa e destino comune.

Sono lusingata di e onorata di essere stata indicata come Ambasciatrice di Erasmus anche per l'impegno con cui in Parlamento europeo mi sono battuta per ottenere più risorse e più opportunità per questo programma.

Ma soprattutto perché mi consentirà di continuare questa battaglia con più visibilità e condividendola con tutti voi.

Silvia Costa, Member of the European Parliament, in this legislature has been Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) till last January ,and now she is  coordinator of the Group Socialist and Democrats.
Ms Costa is Member of the  Delegation to the EU-Albania Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC).
Substitute Member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL).
Vice-chair of the Extreme poverty and human rights intergroup, Member of the Children's rights intergroup and vice-chair  of the European tourism development, cultural heritage, Way of St. James and other European cultural routes.
Professional  journalist, during her previous term as MEP (2009-2014) she has been Member of Committees on Culture and Education (CULT), Women`s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and Civil Liberties (LIBE). She has been the rapporteur for the European Parliament of the Creative Europe Programme 2014-2020.
She has previously been Lazio regional Councillor responsible for Education, Educational rights and Training (2005-2009).
President of the National Commission on Gender Equality; Councillor at the National Council for Economy and Jobs (CNEL).
Deputy-minister for University and Research in the Government led by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi;
Member of Parliament; Rome city Councillor; President of the Academy of Fine Arts, Rome (1995-2005).
In 1987 Ms Costa has co-founded and has been First Vice-president of Telefono Azzurro.
President of the Academy of Fine Arts between 1995 and 2005, in 2003 she has been honored by President Ciampi of the grade of "Grande Ufficiale della Repubblica".
