The meeting is fostered by the National Agency Erasmus+ Indire, Erasmus Student Network Italy and garagErasmus in collaboration with the Department for European Policies, the Ministry of Public Education and European Union. The initiative, scheduled for the 24th February, will be held at the Capitol in Rome, as celebration for the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus programme.
150 students and 50 ex-students with mobility experiences in their curricula have been selected and convened to discuss and deal with topics of interest about Europe. After this first meeting, in the next months until May, work will continue on the online platform provided by the Foundation GaragErasmus, partner of the initiative together with Erasmus Student Network Italy.
The General Assembly is the first opportunity to listen, debate and gather opinions of students and ex-students with a mobility experience. The most important step of this process will be the gathering of policy suggestions formalized in a final paper, the "Erasmus Generation Chart", which will be handed over to Italian and European political decision-makers.
The programme of the event includes intervention by Evarist Bartolo (Minister of Education and Employment - Malta), Giovanni Biondi (President of Indire), Ina Borg (Undersecretary for EU funds and 2017 Presidency - Malta), Francesco Cappè (President of GaragErasmus), Silvia Costa (European Parliament), Valeria Fedeli (Minister of Education, University and Research), Sandro Gozi (Undersecretary for European Affairs), Valentina Presa (Presindet of ESN Italy), Martine Reicherts (General Director for Education and Culture DG EAC).
